As per the title above, CNY is just around da corner~ in just a few days in fact! I'm quite excited bout it! Since this coming new year is the Year of the Tiger, the chinese zodiac that i was born into ^^

According to the chinese zodiac, the Year of 2010 is the Year of a Golden Tiger, which begins on 14 February 2010 and ends on 2 February 2011. The Tiger is the third sign in the cycle of chinese zodiac, which consists of 12 animal signs. It is a sign of courage.

Well, let's see how courageous I am facing the upcoming year ^^

Meeting up with friends ^^

On the Sunday of 4th January 2009, i met up with Ashreena and Asha at a shopping mall in Klang. Venni was unable to come due to her exams, Sabrina due to transport problem, and Elaine because she's not feeling well =( (I managed to meet up a friend of mine, Chloe, who's currently working as a promoter there, for a while though^^)

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the time well spent catching up with my friends. We traded stories and any news that we've heard from other people. Ashreena will be starting a new semester today in her college, where she's taking Journalism, while Asha is currently hunting for a job.

We had lunch at Nando's, whereby i ordered 1/4 Chicken, lemon and herb flavour, with 2 side dishes (chips & coleslaw) and a drink.

The food taste delicious (mm mmm~ yummy), especially the chicken. However, in my opinion, although the food is superb, there's not much to say about their service though. We had to ask twice for our drinks to be served, and whenever we raised our hands for assistance (like asking for some sauces), it seems like no one can see us. The feeling they gave off is like, we seemed young, therefore we're not important customers.

Okay, so not all of the servers are not good. The young lady that lead us to our table is polite enough. However, there's more. When we paid for our food by putting the bills on the bill holder, the guy just flip over the holder with one hand and move off without as much as a glance or a thank you. I mean, excuse me?? Even if you had a bad day, that's no reason for us to put up with that kind of attitude!

Road Safety

Right after the clock strike 12am on 1st January 2009, the amendment made by the Road Safety Department which makes it mandatory for rear-seat passengers to wear seat belts came into effect and is enforced.

According to The News Straits Times Online today, Road Transport Department officers issued 242 summonses nationwide within two hours of it becoming mandatory for rear seat passengers to buckle up.It is reported that until 30th June 2009, rear seat passengers will be issued a RM300 compound fine for not wearing the seat belt. After that, offenders will face either a RM2,000 fine, a year's jail or both. The summonses are issued to individual passengers aged 17 years and above, and in the case where the rear-seat passengers are under 17, the driver is fined.

Personally, i think that it's good that the Road Transport Department are concerned about our safety on the road and are ensuring that we follow the rules so that we can avoid road accidents. However, i felt that the fine of RM2000 and a year's jail is pretty heavy for such an offense. Furthermore, there are only 3 seat belts available in the back seats. What if there are 4 passengers sitting at the back seats? 3 of them will buckle up, and 1 person no need to buckle up? Hmmm.......

Finished exams!!!

Finally finished my exams this semester on 12th Dec 2008.
Ok, i know it's the 16th Dec now, i'm 4 days late in posting in my blog.
I admit i'm kinda feeling lazy nowadays, so shoot me =P

Had 3 subjects this semester, but i had exemption on the Bahasa Kebangsaan subject,
so i only have Strategic Planning & Management (SPM) and Industrial Relations (IR).

The IR paper is alright, very confident that i can pass it, but i'm wondering whether i can score an 'A' in it. As for SPM, i'm praying that my answers are correct so that i can pass it =P

Its the first day of Nov
Time really flies when you're busy or not keeping track on it
Pretty soon, i'll be busy passing up our assignments, prepare our presentations & sit for exams
Me & my friends' 2 year course will be coming to an end soon

Thinking back now, a lot of things had happened during this 2 years
I still remember the day i start living away from the safety and comfort of the nice cocoon that i call home
The turmoil of emotions i felt at that time
The uncertainty, the fear of the unknown future, the nervousness of starting anew in a new environment
I was like a jumble of mess at that time

I consider myself quite lucky actually
Having the opportunity to pursue my tertiary education
Even though its costly and a burden to my parents
I'm very grateful to them

I still remember the 1st night sleeping away from home
It was difficult for me to fall asleep that night
Not only because of unfamiliar surroundings
I also missed the comfort that can only be found from my family

I remember tears welled up in my eyes due to fear
Certain that i can't carry on like this, i called up a friend of mine
I told her my situation, my feelings, and my worries
Being the good friend she was, she listened to me patiently & consoled me

She told me that it was the same for her
She went through the same road before i did
So she understands what i'm going through at that time
And told me that this is just the beginning, and tomorrow will be different

I guess i just need to express myself to someone at that time
Or just trying to get rid of the fear and worries i felt at that time
But it really helped me after pouring it all out
Because there was no tears present after that

Thereafter i've started my university life
My housemates are all alright overall
And i start to familiarized myself with my new surroundings
I think i started on the right track, so i'm glad

During my orientation week, i got to know a few friends
Along with a housemate of mine, they're studying a different course from mine
I was feeling a bit worried, that i've not met anyone having the same class as mine
But soon the feeling was lifted when i met Jasmine, a close & good friend of mine in University

It was a huge relief that i felt when i found out that Jasmine is in the same class with me
I thought, "At last, a companion and my 1st friend who's also a classmate."
That is when i've made up my mind to be good friends with her
And to accompany each other through our new life here

Love Cheater

This is a story which happened to a good friend of mine, A. She's been dating her boyfriend, S, for 4 1/2 years. They've been in a long-distance relationship for a couple of years due to their own studies.

However, for the past 7 months, that guy, S, have been having another relationship with another girl. This other girl is a Philipino girl who works at a pub. For the past 7 months, he have been lying to A. When he do see her, he can look into her eyes and tell her that he loves her, even though he's having an affair with the Philipino girl.

When he's out with the Philipino girl, and A calls, he would not answer her call. He would wait until he have sent the Philipino girl back home, then only he would answer A's call. He would give A many excuses such as 'I didnt hear my phone ring', or 'I was sleeping' or 'my phone battery died' or 'there's something wrong with my phone' and many others. I can write a book especially on the bullshit excuses he told.

Before A went back to the other state she studies in, he could look into her eyes and tell her that he loves her. He could look into her eyes and tell her that she is the only girl for him. He could tell her that his love for her is so strong that the both of them would never be apart. What a bloody jerk he was. He had a relationship and was sleeping with this Philipino girl, and he was lying to his girlfriend.

He had lied to A that he's broke because he had invested a lot of money for a business. The truth was that he had spend all his money on this Philipino girl. He bought her expensive gifts, took her out for fancy dinner, took her out for movies, when he go partying with the Philipino girl, he would spend everything. This is how he really got broke. He had cried to A that he's broke and his parents were not giving him any money. Basically he acted to be sad and depressed so that A would give him money. In the end, his tactic worked, A banked in RM500 for him. He took the money and spent it on the Philipino girl. Till now, he haven't returned A her money.

Last month, in September, while he was in the Philipino girl's house taking a shower, the Philipino girl answered his handphone when A was calling. The Philipino girl told A that in fact he have been dating the Philipino girl for a long time already. The Philipino girl told A that he told the Philipino girl that he had broken with A for 1 year already. The Philipino girl told A many other things.

When A confronted S, he told her that it was a prank. He told A that he met up with his secondary school friends, and he thought that it would be funny if he played a prank on A. He told A that it was J's girlfriend who played a prank on her. A wanted to talk to J's girlfriend to make sure that the story S was telling is the truth. But S told A that he was embarrassed to ask for J's girlfriend's number. A trusted S and believed his bullshit story. He is such a JERK!!

After this incident, S was still with the Philipino girl, sleeping with her whenever he wants. A told S that she would forgive him for the prank incident, but this made her trust towards him less. S told A that he will gain her trust back. S was a happy man, he managed to deceive A to believe his story.

2 weeks ago, S went to KL because his close friend just came back from Australia. S told the Philipino girl that he had to go to KL on a business trip. He told A that he wanted to see her. But the main reason S wanted to see her was that he wanted money from her. However, they had a quarrel, and she went back home without giving S any money. That night S called her and cried to her saying that he's very broke and that he came to KL to see her and he trusted her that she would give him money. A banked in money for S again, she had fell for his lies again.

Four days ago, A found out that the earlier prank was not a prank. A had spoken to the Philipino girl. She was trying to tell the Philipino girl that S was lying to her too. While the Philipino girl was talking to her, S grabbed the phone from the Philipino girl and told A not to disturb him and he had broken up with A 1 year ago. Actually, S was acting this out because he didnt want the Philipino girl to find out that he's still with A. S told the Philipino girl not to believe A and that my good friend, A, is behaving this way because she is still hurt.

Well, now my good friend, A, no longer wants to be with S after finding out that he had been cheating and lying to her. That jerk still don't want to admit his bloody mistakes to A or the Philipino girl. Hence, he's a 1st class JERK!!

I feel absolutely disgusted with S's attitude. He already has a nice and sweet girlfriend, and they have been a couple for 4 1/2 years. But he's still not satisfied, and threw away years of feelings and trust between them and have an affair with a Philipino girl.

I won't pretend that i'm an expert in love, or that i know everything that has happened between A and S, but i still think that if you no longer love someone, break out the news to your partner and make a clean break. Why bother making up so many lies to cover up more lies? What's the point in continuing a relationship if you can't practice fidelity and treasure the love and trust between you? Well, maybe there are reasons behind it all, but the fact still remains that you've cheated.

This is not posted with the intention of offending anyone or being bias etc. I just thought of sharing this story, to create an awareness that such thing do happen to people.
